My age, race, gender, all these are distractions from the emotions and truth I am trying to share with you. I have learned over my life that we do indeed judge a book by its cover. People are silly that way. Based on our preconceived notions we can dismiss anyone, which in turn takes away valuable opportunities to form connection and expand our understanding of the human experience.
